A little more about me
Rodeo is what got me into media in the first place. I picked up a camera because I wanted to capture those moments that happen so quickly and give people something to look back on, so those moments don’t just become memories.
Bulls will always be my favourite thing to capture, but one of my favourite parts of rodeo photography is actually everything around the main event. I love looking for the finer details — the things that can so easily go unnoticed. The moments behind the chutes, the little interactions, the nerves, the laughs, the atmosphere and all the bits that make a rodeo what it is. There are so many opportunities for those shots, and I love finding them.
Somewhere along the way, I realised it wasn’t just rodeos I loved.
I love people. I love meeting new people, getting to know them and being around others who are doing things they’re passionate about. I love getting involved in new events, meeting people in the industry and getting in amongst the action. I love being given an opportunity to see how other people do things.
I think that’s one of my favourite things about media — there is always something new to learn. Every event and every person teaches me something different, and I love that I’m constantly learning, growing and finding new things I can do.
I want EH8 to be about more than just getting a good photo or making a reel. I want the content I create to tell a story, show people what’s happening and capture the feeling of being there. Whether it’s a rodeo, an event, a business or something completely different, I want people to be able to look at the content and feel like they were there.
Rodeo might be where it all started, but I’m excited about everything that’s come from it — and everything that’s still to come.
